March Update

In March we had lots of family visit!! It was a crazy month but a lot of fun!!
First Grandpa and Grandma came up and stayed for the weekend.

Nixon was shy at first which was weird but he came around and LOVED playing cars with Grandpa.

Sadie was cute as usually but very needy...I thought she was catching something.

My cute girl and me...oh dear I can't believe I am posting this picture!

Sadie is learning to love the bumbo...I love being able to have her sit at the table with us and not cry at my feet or have to hold her. This is the little piggy hat that matches Nixon's big bad wolf hat!

She is so dang cute...and this is my favorite outfit...I wanted her to fit in it forever.

Now that I look back on these pic's I can see my poor babies eyes looking a little sick. Little did we know that by Monday she would be going to the doctor.

On Monday we went into the doctor because Nixon had a terrible cough and he sounded bad. We had Sadie checked out too and we found out Nixon AND Sadie had RSV and Nixon had a eye infection.
So they don't do anything for Nixon for his RSV but he did get an antibiotic for his eye which we had to FORCE down him. But Sadie went on the nebulizer and we had to do it four times a day for 15 minutes. Not the easiest thing to do for a five month old.

Nixon of course found ways to enjoy being sick, dressing up and watching his favorite movies.

We had to find ways to do the treatments. Watching Baby Einstein seemed to work the best but we switched between the mouth piece and the mask to mix it up each day. We did the treatments for 10 days and luckily we never had to go to the hospital.

This is poor Nixon all sick...he looks just like he felt I think, my poor kids were miserable for a few days.
This was Nixon's medicine he had to take, poor thing is only 2 and he has to take a bunch of med's. It seemed to make him pretty loopy.

After a few days Nixon was feeling so much better, but Sadie was not allowed out of the house or around other kids for a week. So Papa stayed home on St. Patrick's day and we went up to Grandma Spear's house to celebrate. Nana had flown into town, she was a life saver through the sicknesses too.

Nixon got a much needed haircut while Nana was there.

I figured out a way to cut Nixon's hair without screaming.
Step 1: Put on a movie
Step 2: Put a towel in his mouth so he doesn't get hair in it:)
Step 3: Offer him a BIG sucker when he is done!

I got this out for Sadie and Nixon was thrilled, he thought it was just for him!! He did finally let Sadie sit in it for a few seconds!

Nana came to visit later in March and we loved having her visit.

Nixon loves to play in the backyard at Grammy and Pompa's house. We celebrated Jon's birthday the Sunday before with his family!! Jon turned the BIG 30 this year!!

For Jon's Birthday, we let him sleep in and then greeted him with breakfast in bed. This is a tradition in my family, which I always enjoyed and so I am keeping it alive. Nixon thought it was pretty fun to eat eggs in bed too!!

Febuary Update

Oh man I am slowly ... I mean SLOWLY getting updated to the current month. I have so many memories that I want to document but I somehow am SO busy these days I don't get much time to do blogging. Finally it's summer time and I hope to get caught up, so here is some Febuary memories.

For Valentine's day I made pink crepes and we had a nice big breakfast. Nixon thinks that the bumbo is his and he will tell Sadie it's his turn to sit it in.

Happy Valentine's Day!! Yum Yum Yum

Sadie was all dolled up in pink for Valentine's Day and she was SO smiley in her carseat Jon took some pic's! What a cutie!!

Valentine's Night I made some chocolate fondue and we watched a movie and had lots of chocolate....oh man it was GOOD GOOD GOOD

Darby loves to lay under the crib, even with Nixon that was her spot, now Nixon likes to join her and it's so funny. I don't think Darby likes it very much though....invading her space and all that.

While I do rub downs with Sadie Nixon gets all the baskets out from underneath Sadies bed and hides in the middle, in between hiding with Darby under the crib of course.

It has been a long winter and Nixon is done with being inside all the time so I let him play with his outside toys in the garage.

Sometimes he even goes out in the snow to play in "Garret's car" I might be a bad mom to let him do this but man sometimes ya just gotta get out of the house:)

Jon and Nixon made jello together and then we put it in the fridge to set up. I find Nixon a little while later with his head in the fridge DRINKING the jello.

He didn't have patience to wait for it to set up:)

Sadie and Nixon looked so cute one day both in green I took some pictures of them together. Nixon LOVES to hold Sadie and is really a sweet big brother.

Finally I get both of them smiling, after only 55 pictures.....thank goodness for digital!

Sadie is now four months old and we started a little bit of rice cereal, I love when you start food and they don't know what to do about the spoon.
Her stats at four months:
weight: 12 pds. 4 oz. in the 10%
height: 24.5 inches in the 25%
head circumference: 42 cm in the 95% (not a surprise!)
Still so little, my mom calls her a little teacup because she is so small.

It pretty much got all over and maybe a tiny bit in her mouth.

Nixon got to eat a Popsicle while Sadie ate rice cereal.

The mess of baby food, now it's bath time.

So happy with herself though, I think!

I am doing a new thing this year, as my new year's resolution, that I am trying NEW receipes. I have so many great recipe books and so ever Monday I try a new recipe. Sometimes it gets thrown out and sometimes it gets put into my rotation. This is meatloaf in peppers and Jon loved them and they are so cute I had to take a pic...I know I'm weird:)

Spider-Nixon

Normally Michelle does all the blogging, but I hijacked the blog so I could post this video of Nixon climbing the "rock wall" at the local playground. This was only his 3rd time on the wall. I showed him how to do it the first time and then spotted him the second time and by the third time he could climb it all by himself. It was wicked awesome.
