Needing an Update...

So you are in need of an update I see. Wow it's been a CRAZY month that went by way too fast. I LOVE the holidays, did I enjoy them enough this year??? ...... No time to reflect must post pictures and update you on the on goings of the Spear Family.

So, Jon and I went to a Letterman's jacket party before Christmas. It was a blast. I tried to find my officer sweater from when I was in high school but I couldn't find it, I know it is in a box somewhere... somewhere, I will find it I am sure randomly someday. Anyway, I wore Mark's old jacket from Carbon High, it was a hit.

Everyone wore their jackets I was impressed, it was fun to see everyone's and how different they were.

We watched them play "Beer Pong" and it was hilarious, I am sad to report boys are better than girls!! At least that night!

Random Nixon....
Nixon found some cereal in the cupboard, took it out of the box and then went downstairs and "shared" it with Darby while they watched TV. This is what I found when I thought it was a little bit too quiet in the house.

He is "sharing" I guess that is good right! :) Needless to say the cereal cupboard now has a lock on it.

A few weeks ago we got a pretty good snow storm. Jon, Nixon and I went out to shovel the walks. Should I say Nixon or should I say little boy from the Christmas story movie???

Nixon didn't like that he couldn't get around very well. He REALLY didn't like his mittens, they were in his way of picking up the white fluffy stuff.

Katie had a school recital that we went to. She did a great job and all the songs were totally cute. Nixon sat on Emily's lap the whole time and danced to the music, he was awesome.

I loved all the actions they did, it is so cute.

Side note: That night of the recital Nixon poured water all over his outfit so we changed him into his spare outfit before the recital. When we got to the school he was soaking wet... so we had to change him back into his now not so wet clothes from dinner. Too bad I didn't have a change of pants for me. I keep a spare outfit in the bag and never use it, that night I needed two.

Memory to Remember

So the other day Jon was out in the garage working on the Jimmy when he needed my helped. I ran out there and left Nixon at the glass door crying wanting to come out into the COLD with us. I was only out there for less than 30 seconds when I rushed back in to a still crying boy. When I tried to pick him up I noticed his hand was in the door jam, I tried to move it a little each way and it wasn't looking good. I called for Jon and he came running to discover our madness. We couldn't get that poor little hand out so I held Nixon while Jon took the door off. Yep, we got the whole front door off of it's hinges and Nixon was free again, no harm done but a little pink line on his wrist. What a night?!?!

I just wanted to remember this little experience for when I think what a monkey Nixon is. Man boys with by boys I guess, always getting into trouble.

Christmas Time Has Arrived

Nixon is in his Christmas pja's and that smile is a killer, how Jon got it on film I will never know.
It's that time of year where the tree is up and our house is lite up with lights. I LOVE this season and Nixon I think, is liking it too. He is really liking the tree in the living room and although we put it on the coffee table he climbs onto it and stands by the tree all day. He is pretty good about not touching the ornaments but every once in awhile I hear an "Uh-Oh" and he has one in his hand, looking like he doesn't know HOW it happened.

Our cute little tree.

I tried to put presents under the tree but he just opened them all and thought it was pretty great. I am excited this year for he will be able to really help open and enjoy Christmas.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh!

Nixon is so funny about us trying to get him to stay away from the tree, it's like a challenge.

We went to "Nativity's From Around The World" on Monday. It is a big festival that one of the stakes puts on and there is over 600 different Nativity sets all on display. From life size to miniature it is pretty amazing. Nixon was a little crazy to take but we had a lot of fun anyway. These are a few we thought we cool.
The one in the middle is from Japan and it is all origami.

There was a room full of "Fun" Nativity sets and I feel in love with the chubby ones, aren't they funny???

More Video Overload:)

More Video overload... Nixon is so funny I can't help but take videos of him.

Nixon has learned "please" in sign language and it is so cute because he rubs his belly instead of his chest.

We love that little laugh and Jon is so good at getting him to belly laugh.

This is the BEST dancing video. He is so cute when the cd player is on and has soom "sweet" moves:)

New video camera.. need I say more?

For my birthday this year Jon got me a flip video camera. We got to put a picture on it too, so I took a picture of it. It's cute huh?! I have been having fun taking videos. So here are a bunch.. sorry for the overload:)
Having fun in the backyard raking leaves. Nixon picks up some leaves and then wanted to put them in the bin by himself. It was so cute how he came up to me with his back to me and wanted me to lift him up.

Playing with the leaf pile.

Nixon is in charge of stomping the leaves down in the bin. He is VERY good at:) Nixon loves it too.

When we went to Jump and Bounce we took some videos. Half of them were of me laughing at Jon trying to take videos of us while going down the slide together.

More Jump and Bounce, he loved going up and down the ramps.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Well Thanksgiving came quickly this year, man how time flies. We had a great holiday though and enjoyed lots of family. Jon's grandma, aunt and uncle came up from Elmo, Utah and stayed for the weekend, it was so fun to spend Thanksgiving with them.

First these are a few photos that make me smile. Nixon reading a book on Jon.
Then Nixon reading a book on Gauge.

Poor Gauge is now a horse in Nixon's mind. Whenever he is lying down anywhere Nixon rushes over and sits on him. We are trying to stop him from jumping up and down on him too... it's a challenge:) Darby on the other hand runs away when Nixon rushes towards her, she isn't stupid.

Nixon is always getting out my pots and pans put this particular day he decided it was big enough to sit in. What a goofy kid.

Then we made him do the monkey .. we are bad parents:)

Nixon LOVES to ride in the Jimmy. We don't do it very often but when we do he gets to sit up front and he likes to hold your hand while you drive. It's adorable!!! This is Nixon wanting to go on a ride.. and decked out in his cameo!!

"Hey" he says, "Let's go"

So NOW, Thanksgiving day!! When we got to Grammy's Nixon just wanted to go outside, in the cold??? We got a ball and playing pass while we waited for assignments from the boss (Grammy).

Nixon is actually a really good thrower, I think it's because last summer when he was just a young lad he watched his daddy play softball three nights a week...

Then we found the riding lawn mower and he thought this was a rocket ship.. or could have been.

Jon had gotten up that morning and went and played Turkey Bowl with some of his friends and Cam. They are crazy, it was freezin' at 9 am. But they had a lot of fun.

Jon took Tanner out back and played some football at home so we could watch and cheer. Nixon of course had to be out there playing too... SOOOO helpful.

Pass!!!

I made this craft for the kids.. how cute are they?? We set them on each place at the dinner table. Katie helped me for a few minutes but it turned out to not be such a great "craft" really but they looked cute and tasted good. They are marshmallows dipped in chocolate then on a cookie and a little yellow frosting to make the hat complete.

This is the Yummy Turkey that we ate... my mouth waters just thinking about it:) Kirt also deep fried a turkey this year, it was really good and really interesting to watch the process. So we were well fed!

Here are Jim and Kirt lowering the turkey in.

Uncle Jim, he is the nicest guy you will ever know!

Here is Nixon having dinner a little early because he was READY for a nap.

He wanted to feed me too.. since the dogs weren't there.

Marsha is making the gravy... yum gravy. AND Pompa is carving the turkey.

More turkey carving.

Here is Granny, ready to play some cards after dinner:)

Relaxing after eating SOOO much.

Karen got a new tree Thanksgiving weekend and Nixon thought Santa had come early as he played and played in the box.

In and out he went.

An elf visited Nixon to tell him to be a good boy before Christmas for Santa:)

Thank you Santa's Elf.. :)

GO UTES!!

It was that time of year when the University of Utah played BYU. I of course am a big U fan and the rest of Jon's family are Y fans. This makes for a very trying time for me when we sit down to watch the game ALL together. This year was no fun for me. I mean really the game was at the Y and the ref's were wearing white and blue stripes, seriously it was awful. I held my tongue though, for the most part, but inside I must say was NOT pretty:) But I took picture before the game so that is why I am smiling.

Pompa and Nixon, he was trying to get Nixon over to the DARK side.

Go Utes!!! Nixon had a U sweatshirt too but I forgot to take a picture when he was all decked out in gear.

And of course don't forget Garret who wanted his picture taken too, cute boy!
