The First Snow and The Monkey...

This is my favorite face... what a little stinker! This is early in the morning and he is so funny in the mornings.

Nixon has been climbing on EVERYTHING lately and he is getting pretty good at being a monkey and getting into trouble. He found out he can climb on his little table and see himself in the mirror. He thinks he is pretty cool.

This is the same morning... now he is climbing on the oven. TROUBLE!

He steps on the drawer handle and then climbs up and can open the oven if I am not watching.

Then it's off to the dump truck to ride around the living room.

Nixon got his shots on Friday and on Saturday starting have a runny nose and can't breath very well... I hate when my little guy is sick. Jon took a picture of them together and it makes me sad to look at that poor sick boy. He doesn't look very well, does he? Thank goodness he is feeling better finally today!

Last weekend it snowed for the first time... it was light but OH so pretty.

I LOVE the snow and it's about that time with Thanksgiving around the corner.

Raking Leaves Again and Again...

The leaves are softly falling down
They make a carpet on the ground
Then swish the wind comes blowing by
and send them dancing in the sky

We have been raking up leaves a lot lately and Nixon LOVES it!

But if the pile is too big he won't walk through it... who knew you could be picky about a leaf pile:)

Nixon could stay outside ALL day if only I would let him.

How cute is this boy???

We saw a BIG deer in the backyard. It was SO pretty and awesome to see it up close.

We have had a few fires since it is warming up. Nixon wasn't so sure about it, he wanted to touch it. But when I told him it was hot, he tried to blow it out:)

Nana came to visit us a few weekends ago. She cut ALL our hair and we went shopping and just had a lot fun.

Thanks Nana for visiting us, we love you!

Again the leaves... man oh man they never stop. Here is Nixon "helping" by giving Daddy a leaf:)

Nixon's turn with the rake.

I gave Nixon a bucket and told him to pick up the leaves, it was SO funny to watch him carry it around and put leaves, rocks, berries pretty much anything into the bucket.

Checking out his loot.

Then of course he had to stomp it down in the bucket. What a funny boy!

Happy Halloween...

HAPPY HALLOWEEN everyone. We had a lot of fun on Halloween and we hope everyone else did too. This year, even I dressed up... "heck why not" I thought. Nixon was an adorable T -i-double-ger that spells Tigger and wore his costume all night and didn't seem to mind at all. I was Abby from NCIS.. hee hee it was fun:)

Tigger... trying to get his hood off.

Jon and Nixon on Halloween night! Aren't they adorable?

Nixon stole Pompa phone out of his shirt pocket while he was sleeping on the couch... hee hee. He got it and then looked at Pompa like "Hey I have your phone."

Nixon with his pumpkin bucket.

Don't you just LOVE Halloween, it's so fun.

Pompa and Nixon.

Cody, as Thomas the Train.

Ryan in his pink shirt and crazy wig.. any excuse to wear his pink shirt!!

At Grandma's with all the pumpkins, she does a great job every year of decorating for Halloween.

Nixon "helping" Kathleen play the little piano. He liked following the big kids around all night.

I couldn't take enough picture of my adorable Tigger.

Me and Jon.

Brandon as Wall-e

Kathleen was a vampire.

The fire face pumpkin.

The skeleton pumpkin.

Oh and me .. as Abby.

The big spider is going to get me.. AHHHHH

Ok if this isn't the cutest picture ever of the kids Trick or Treating. Nixon only went to a couple of houses.

BUT he got his FIRST sucker and so we think it was a success.

He was lovin' the sucker.

Thomas was lovin' the Sprite.

Nixon got SO sticky and wet from the sucker... it was funny.

And a goofy picture of Nixon to end the Halloween night!!

Jump AND Bounce

Jon's brother Ryan and his family came into town this Halloween weekend and we spent some time goofing off. On Friday we all went to this place called "Jump and Bounce," where there is a lot of jumping and bouncing... ha ha. Jon was pretty happy that Nixon needed help on most of the toys because that meant he had to do them too:) So we ignored the KIDS ONLY NO ADULTS signs and had a lot of fun.

Nixon liked the stairs the best part... no shock there!

Here they come down the slide... weeeeeeee!

Crawling through the tunnels!

There was a play area for JUST TODDLERS and it was nice because he could do most of it by himself.

He liked the little ramp that he could go up and down, up and down.

A mini slide.

There was a boxing ring... that was funny to watch the kids in.

More slide fun. Nixon LOVED the slides.

Pompa and Nixon going head first... this might have scared Nixon a little bit.

Katie and Brandon.

Kathleen being silly.

Everyone ending up in a big pile at the bottom.

Going through a big maze. Man if this isn't a great way to wear your kids out... Nixon was exhausted after all the fun... PERFECT for mom:)

Pumpkin Carving

It's that time again where we go up to the Grandparents house and carve a bunch of pumpkins. We love this tradition and I think it's a lot of fun as a family. This year was a bit different as I had to keep an eye on Nixon who wanted to explore and be a big boy. And as you will tell I took a lot of random pictures of Nixon at this event. Jon is a good pumpkin carver so I let him be the carver and I was the watcher this year, just the way I like it.

Here is Jon's skeleton face... It looks awesome!!

Nixon liked the big pile of pumpkins in the garage. He went from one to another checking them ALL out.

The best is when he tried to pick them up, he would do a big grunt and his face would go all red. It was adorable and of course I missed it on the camera... but you can imagine it:)

Here is Jon carving his second pumpkin.

While I was inside making our homemade pizza ( a tradition on carving night) Nixon found himself a sweet onion and carried it around the house. I found him in the bedroom trying to EAT the onion... yuck! You would think I starve the boy of all his vegetables or something.

This is Nixon's FAMOUS way of telling you he needs help. The little hand gesture is adorable and he uses it ALL day long of course. But I caught it on camera... he needs help down the stairs like a big boy.

Cute face ... oh man he looks so big in this picture.

Here Nixon is sitting on the pumpkins, he tried them all out and they were ALL HARD of course.

The skeleton face again...

Cameron and Rachelle with their pumpkins on the porch.

The second pumpkin, a fire face.

Halloween Dinner!!

I am really getting a good use out of the ball cake pans!! We made spider cakes out of them!! Jon missed his calling in life, he makes a great cake decorator.

The orange punch!!

We made BONE bread sticks.

The jello had spiders on top of them, which were very good:)

AND we ate ALL the casserole... before I took a picture hee hee!

I love making this Halloween Dinner for Jon's family. It is a little tradition and I have a lot of fun thinking of things to make scary to eat!

Black Roses Please...

So I love watching the show NCIS and if you watch this show you know the lab tech Abby... hello LOVE her. So I always tell Jon I want black roses, because Abby on the show sometimes get them. Well come to find out.... you can't buy black roses, who knew? So while I was at knitting group last week Jon found a way to make me black roses for Halloween.

You get white roses and spray paint them.

I was so surprised!! They are so awesome.. I LOVE them!! Thanks Jon, you are the best!

Fall Fun!!

Nixon and the dogs in the back yard with the leaves. It is turning cold here in Spokane and we are having some fun in fall weather.

Nixon wanted to pat the dogs and give them kisses while we were taking pictures... he is so silly.

Tanner has been playing football this fall and we went to his last game on Saturday. He is number 59, if you don't know he is the tallest boy usually.

He is the kicker... all the kids said he kicks it "REALLY hard."

Go TITANS!

My boys in their football hats AT the football game... they are so cute!

Jon loves his boy and Nixon is a total DADDY's boy!

Me and Nixon .. he didn't want me to take a picture of his bear hat.

Nixon has so many knitted hats.. I really need to find something else to knit.. haha:)

Nixon playing with the HULK HANDS!!

He is ready to box, watch out!

The things going on...

Jon built a ladder to go up to our roof. It is so fun to go up there.

Nixon likes to go up there too, but it's hard to keep him from walking too close to the edge.

Me and my boy!

My sister gave Nixon this tent and a house and some tunnels for his birthday. I was able to get it back from Utah and Nixon LOVES it.
We took the tent outside and Nixon went in and out with the dogs.

Playing, Playing

Fun time outside!

This is the little house, we have it in our basement and Nixon hangs out it in a lot of the day.

The tunnels.

I tried to get the dogs to go through them, but they didn't go for it.

Thanks Katie for the fun birthday gift, that I meant to put up earlier on the blog!

Turning 26!

So it was my birthday this weekend and it's a tradition for us to go up to Green Bluff. It was a chilly day, which it usually is up at the orchards, and we were all bundled up for the day. Nixon looked so cute decked out in his autumn colors and pumpkin hat, which I made for him last year and luckily I made it HUGE so it fits him perfectly this year.
This is a classic picture of Nixon with his tongue out, tasting that crisp air I guess.
Jon and Nixon were waiting for the little train ride.

Nixon and I waiting for the train too.

Here we are on the train ride. The train just went around the orchards and was not too long, but it was fun. Nixon didn't say a word he just watched us ride along by all the pumpkins and apple trees.

While Nixon was on the train he liked standing on the bench and watching the train cars behind us.

Here we are at the pumpkin patch, isn't it cute.

Picking out our pumpkin.. ok maybe we didn't buy THIS exact one. We got free ones that were little, but that is not important for the picture:)

Jon and Nixon (our little pumpkin)

Nixon wanted to carry the pumpkin, he likes to be like his daddy.

Nixon liked the "hum" of the train engine. He loves the vacuum "hum" too, he sits there and puts both hands on it.

Cute boys!

Then we played in this pirate ship that was a mini play ground in a way. Nixon loved the window that he could poke his head out.

I told him to give me a kiss and this is a picture of him .. "giving me a kiss"

SO CUTE!!

Up on the ship, with our rosy cheeks.

I took Nixon down the slide.. and totally fell right on my butt, it was embarrassing but pretty funny. I would have laughed at me too!

Nixon and Daddy on top of the ship.

After the ship, we went through a "little" of the corn maze.

We jumped out at Nixon when we could, he thought it was fun to be chased around.

There was string put up on some of the maze making is so you couldn't go this way, Nixon didn't listen. He thought it was a game to get to the other side.

He liked crawling under the string, he thought he was pretty cool.

Up at the top of the BIG castle.

After eating a VERY delicious caramel apple at Green Bluff we headed out. Karen and Mark were so nice to watch Nixon that night so Jon and I could go out to dinner. We went to The White House Grill, which is a great Italian restaurant. We went out with some of our friends too, Heather, Tyson, Jeff and Natalie. We had a great time!! Yum, it was good!

On my birthday I waited until Nixon woke up to open my presents. That was not until 10 am when Nixon finally woke up.. Happy Birthday to me!!!

My mom gave me a Harry Potter snow globe. It plays the theme and everything, it's so cute on my mantel.

Mark and Karen gave me cookie sheets. I need to make some cookies now:)

Nixon liked pulling the paper out of the boxes and throw it around the room, it was cute.

I let Nixon pull the paper off, it took forever because he thought each piece was such an accomplishment. We finally just ripped it off.

Yep, still ripping that paper.

I got a new shirt... cute huh!

My Aunt Connee sent me this present and it had a flatten bow, she said to make it look good again before I opened the present.
I did, it's cute huh!

She got me some books, to read to Nixon. We LOVE books!

I read to Nixon as he played.

He carried the little book around all day.

Then of course I made Gramsy's homemade cake for my birthday... and ate it in a few days:)

I realize now that all these birthday pictures of are me in my pajamas. I did get ready for the day, I promise.

This is a video of Nixon doing his animal noises, it's freakin' funny.

Snowbird 2009!!

Every year we try and make it down to Utah for my mom's time share in Snowbird. We all get together and it's a lot of fun relaxing and enjoying the beautiful nature around there.

This year was no exception ... we made it down and first thing Nixon did was play with Chloe and carry around her PINK PURSE.

Then Nixon played Tea Party with Chloe.

Where of course he spilled water all over himself.. hee hee!

And of course Nixon found the fireplace and climbed up and down, up and down.

At Snowbird on the weekend there is Oktoberfest and it is a lot of fun. There are little booths and music, bratwursts and games. Then again this year it started raining and it was a little cold, but it didn't stop us from walking around and having some fun.

Nixon liked the flowers and wanted to pick them.. and then to eat them:)

He is so cute though, walking around like such a big boy.

There is a BIG tent with food and fun festive music. The girls love to dance and the chicken dance of course is our favorite.

Nixon and daddy!

Our little family.

Here we are eating our bratwursts!

I loved watching Jon and Nixon walking around in the rain, it was so cute!!

Nixon's cute butt....

Mac and Nixon playing together. They were pretty good together but would get kind of sick of each other and Nixon would push Mac over or something.. ha ha! They pretty much shared anything and everything, including their sippy cups.

Playing, Playing all the day!

Even in the morning they are playing with the farm

Nixon and Bella.

The kids on the bridge.

The park! He's a little young for driving but he talked me into it.

The FIRST TIME on the slide.

Although Nixon just wanted to climb it instead of sliding down it.

Then he loved the steps, up and down, up and down.

And playing with the bark, kids love the funniest things.

Swinging in the swing that might take off to space by the way it straps those kids in:)

Nixon actually fell asleep in the swing, it was adorable.

Bella loved pushing Nixon up, up, UP and away.

Then activity time, it wasn't "naked" this year ha ha:) The kids painted aprons, while wearing ty-die.

Mac-a-doodle!

Nixon climbing in the food basket, so typical.

Our little family walking around in Snowbird.

Nixon with his Daddy

Nixon peeking through the bridge.

The boys with the kid-os on the bridge.

We let the kids "mine" for gems and Nixon just wanted to play in the water, that of course was left just for HIM.

It was super funny to watch him, he was SO happy.

He does LOVE the water.

The kids each got a bag of sand with gems "hidden" inside and then they had trays to put in the water to help separate the dirt out. It was cute to watch how excited they all were to mine for gems.!

Me and Nixon, and the beautiful mountains.

"More water" Nixon says.

Hailey!

Lilly!

Chloe!

Bella!

Nana and Mac watching the miners.

This is my favorite picture of the trip... with that BIG grin, and BIG eyes and sleeves soaking wet:)

Ya just wanted to nibble on those cheeks.

On Tuesday we went up on the tram to the top. This was Jon AND Nixon's first time.

Gorgeous view from the tram.

Nixon getting a kick out of walking around free on the tram, he fell a couple times from the movement.

So we knew it was cold and a little chilly but when we got to the top, it was hailing. Nixon thought of course the sky was throwing down cold treats and preceded to eat the hail on our way to the warming hut.

We sat in the warming hut for about 20 minutes waiting for the storm to pass.

It made it so beautiful up there though.

Finally the hail stopped and we walked around. Man I miss these mountains!!

Jon got too close to the edge and fell off..... ha ha!!

Nice pic of Nixon and then there is me squinting into the sun, gotta love those shoots.

The first snow fall at snowbird, gets me excited for ski season.

Jon throwing snowballs at me... typical girl shoot there too!

Our mark in the snow.

We got family pictures while we were there all together and I knitted this sweater for the picture. Yeah too bad I didn't finish it until two days AFTER the pictures... too bad.

Nixon loved to climb in the chair and lounge like this everyday, it was so funny.

Crazy hair boy!

Nana and I went on a walk up to the point and say the view, not snowing this time.

Nixon fell asleep on our way up the path.

But of course woke up when we got there.
Nana and Nixon.

Me and my big boy!

Packing to go to Nana's house. Jon went home half way through and I stayed another week with my family.

The famous beer bottle mantle.

Nixon inside the basket... he is ALWAYS inside some kind of basket or box.

Hailey got into the crib with Nixon and Nana read them a story, it was adorable.

Hailey loved it, and so did Nixon.

Mac and Nixon pounding on the window at Gramsy's.

My cute crazy boy!

Nana has a little sand pile that Nixon played in. The girls decided not to play with him because he started throwing sand... what a boy!

Lilly, Bella and Hailey getting Chips Ahoy! Yum!

Crazy hair, again... it's a trend.

Oh.. in the basket.

Bella put Nixon in the stroller and strolled him around, I am surprised he didn't jump out.

Super Man to the rescue.

The kids were playing dress ups and of course Nixon needed a dress up too. He is adorable with that cape.

Hair cut time. Nana gave Nixon a trim... man this kid grows hair so fast.

Nixon and I went to Bella's school and had lunch with her. It was so fun to see her there.

Mac came over and I had knitted a hat for Nixon but it was too small, but it fit Mac just right.

Our Third Dog????

video

Yes we "kinda" have a third dog it seems. Nixon LOVES to go through the dog door whenever he can and walk to the edge of the lawn and sit down in the dirt. Man if he isn't ALL boy!

video
